Packaging for RFD to RFD

#1 Post by Demonic69 »

Just a quick one
How do you guys normally package for transfer? I'm assuming the RFD wouldn't package it, generally?
I've got foam and cardboard, assuming that would be ok?
Cheers

The 2 rifles I have had shipped via RFD they have done the packing for me, reason they need to check it's safe to ship ie not loaded and packed safely cos they would get the blame if damaged.

I prefer the seller to do the packing as then it is their responsibility for their gun, however it must be done in my presence as I am the sender and I need to know exactly what I am sending and that there are no postally hazardous items like ammunition etc in the package.

If i'm paying an RFD £25-35 for a transfer i'd expect them to package it for me. In the past i've done it myself only to get to the RFD and they wanted me to reopen it all!

Exactly that mate, they took it out and said they'd repackage it properly! A wasted hour of my life :-)

We do not charge other than shipping costs so we prefer them to arrive in packaging but not sealed to they can be checked. Having said that we appear to have a small mountain of packing materials right now...
