I think I'm one of the three named parties in your original email saddler. For the record, mine are a blued .44 Magnum and a matte "nickel" finished .357 Magnum. I'd include images but unfortunately don't seem to be able to do so without linking to a host site.

I'm thinking of modifying the wood forends on mine to reduce their overall length - having them both finish flush with the end of the barrel shroud. I'm also probably going to have my nickel 357 coated, perhaps with a high sheen black for the frame, cylinder and shroud, and matte black for the barrel, muzzle break and rear extension. Does anyone foresee any technical problems with my idea to have the gun refinished in either Cerakote or Durakote?

Out of Curiosity, what is the going rate of Mateba Grifone's these days? Once saw a 454 Casuall model go for a pretty penny on guntrader some years back.

I bought both within the last 12 months and paid £800 for my 44 and £550 for my 357 if memory serves correctly. The 454 Casull could be the most expensive of the three chamberings due to its rarity. Having said that, the price might be low because not many people want or need such a gun! It's a pretty obscure calibre here in the UK, without many applications where it excels - at least in a carbine like the Grifone. I'm pretty sure it would be deer legal both here and up north if you could get it conditioned for such. Otherwise it would a target shooting novelty - with a big punch!

I'm trying to remember how much the 454 was, but I remember at least £1500, and it didn't last long. Somebody wanted that badly.
