Targets

#1 Post by ozone »

.

I managed to find a target on the internet that allows you to zero
at 100mtrs but shoot at 25mtrs. Basically there are two bulls, the
one you aim at and the one you hit, if it was at 100mtrs.

It was designed for a .223. Do they do a similar target for .308.

Sounds like you have it backwards...

Lots of targets are designed to allow you to zero for X-distance on a 25m range.
Never seen anyone trying to do it the other way around

Sorry, that is what I mean.

At 25mtrs you aim and if zeroed it hits the target in the 100mtr bull

Not usually spot on as they don't always take into account the distance between bore and scope/sight centreline.

Better off boresighting and just zeroing at 100.

Quite a few such targets available to download online.

Another option is to use one of the free ballistic programs: enter your gun/caliber/scope height parameter data...then choose zero distance. They then display bullet height differences at 100m, 200m, 300m, etc
