My Old Dillon press broke, a bit of cast ali just could not cope any longer where the lever goes in. This press is old, >15 possibly but excellent. Its the 500 model before it was replaced with the current 550.

Anyhow, dropped Dillon a email asking how I could get a new piece, response was its covered under warranty, what's your address and we'll send you a new one.

Well it arrived yesterday with a load of tune up bits for my 500.

International postage, the buggeration of doing it, FREE etc etc...

Dillon.... Ra ra ra. BTW, do not think that these presses are weak. I know who had it before me and what it was used for. It was abused but with new bit is like new again. Shane they are not more common in the Uk as much nice that the red ones.

I've had the same quality response from Hornady and RCBS. No charge for parts and no postage. No issues either about whether or not you are the original owner.

Not a Dillon fan myself tried to by from them once and found their sales service people to be something I couldn't say anything positive about. :(

Shame really as their progressive presses are up there quality wise with the Hornady kit even although some of their design is getting a bit dated. They are just that bit more expensive as well.

Outsatnding kit. Lifetime guarantee as well. I've had my 550 for over 20 years and still going. Back in the pistol days I was running 2 Dillons, one permanently set up for .45ACP and the other 9mm. 500 rounds a week would easily be loaded on them. I have nothing but praise for the product.

Westy do you use the 500 to meter powder as well?

No powder meter. that would be cool, wow you could bosh them out.

I have gone all electronic with powder with a Lyman 3 powder measure. seems to throw to a 10th every time and quick enough to be useful.

With a ball powder the powder meter would probably be very accurate, forget it with anything coarse though, I am yet to find any form of culver type thrower that works to the required tenth with the lumpier powders.

Christel uses a Charge Master which she swears by, I am still not convinced :(

Nope, I have tried a few and if its Vit in there or other lumpy it good to 6tenths best. Worse sometimes. In the BR it makes the diff between hot and sexy and pressure signs.

No complaints for me on my Chargemaster, very consistant loads even with Viht N560.
