It happened on Saturday June 28th. I was coincidentally present when it was reported by one of the HPS team to a member of the NRA team.

Blimey, that is not good news. I did not expect to hear of thefts from within the community by members of the community.

I'm trying to think of some way this could be a mistake or misunderstanding on the shooter's (thief's?) part, but I just can't see it.

Why the hell would an FAC holder steal something like this?

Unfortunately it's not something unheard of at game fairs and shooting shows. I believe that there have been one or two instances at the phoenix in past years.

"IT IS SUSPECTED TO BE A FULLBORE .308 TARGET RIFLE SHOOTER. "

Anybody who would risk their FAC over a theft needs their head examined. Apart from the obvious moral implications.

Why would anybody want to steal a piece of s*** like that?
When someone says "it's not about the money" you know what? it probably is all about money!

Not necessarily a member of the community, as such. Bisley's known to be attractive to thieves - look at the NRA's first effort with electronic targetry. Someone familiar with the butts nicked the shiny electronic receivers from the butts within a month.
