7.62 load testing

#1 Post by Dave 101 »

It looks like that old Enfield of mine that I was ready to scrap a few weeks ago has a new lease of life shooting downloads only , after a couple of weeks testing this was todays results

Having worked out last week best results with 5.5 gns of Unique I decided to fine tune things this week , I loaded from 4.6 grains to 5.8 gns in 0.2 gn increments , the group size started at 2" down to this and up again , so best group was at 5.4 .
Calibre 7.62 x 51
Winchester case .
CCI large rifle primer
93 gn round nose cast bullet
lubed with liquid Allox
5.4 gns of Unique
Rifle with bipod at 25 yds
5 Shot group which can be covered with a 10p .

Next is to try it out at Andrewsfield 50 yds next week .
