I am sure that you have read reports of the US Military spending $millions on developing a scope that does everything, apparently this is one of the last areas to be conquered.
Interesting to see that the scopes with built in range finders do not appear to have sold very well.
I am sure that sooner or later these wonder scopes will find there way onto the civilian market but I am reasonably confident that we will not be seeing them on the firing point any time soon, and almost certainly will be written out of any civilian comps.
I guess the US military will put these on the forbidden list as soon as they are made and will be impossible to get out of the US, unless you find one laying around in a desert somewhere...

Price will pay a large part in that I think, plus actually getting hold of them.
Alot of shooting in the uk (certainly full bore) is at ranges with known distances so a range finder isn't really required. Even in the stalking world ranges are rarely more than 250yds and therefore only 1-2" adjustments need to be made.
