7.62x39
I am looking for info for the 7.62x39 any body re load for this round bullets in the 125 to 150 grain area. Cast or full metal jacket.

I don't reload that particular round but I have the Sierra manual...what type of jacketed 125/150 and would it be for hunting or target? Sierra specify for 18 1/2" barrel (Ruger mini 30) 1X10 twist.

I can crunch it through QuickLoad to give some start data if you wish, what powder do you use/prefer?

I looked into this calibre a while back. There is a fair amount of data around for it and it would no doubt be a tidy little target cartridge out to 300 or so. But the thing that put me off was bore diameters reportedly varied considerably from maker to maker and sometimes with a single maker, all depending where the market was for each barrel produced.....
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Talking about the AIA Enfields, apparently with a decent barrel you can 7.62x39 to shoot 0.5 MOA.

Barrel quality is, however, variable -- the 308 barrels appear to be more consistent than the 7 .62 x 39, and they are usually poorly fitted into the receiver threads. Breeching up is done with a Savage-type lock ring, which is brilliant from a manufacturing perspective. However, the lock ring is usually not terribly tight, and the thread-thread fit is poor. This meant that my rifle shot incredibly far left, and would randomly lose zero. My barrel was also .313 with 2 voids, hence I never got better than 4 MOA out of the damn thing.
A new barrel and a bit of experimental butchery (but nothing that cannot be put back to normal) later and I have a rifle that shoots consistently 0.5 MOA.

I did read that the AIA's are made in Vietnam of all places, anyone else heard this?
