Landmarc Range Booking

#1 Post by johngarnett »

Guys etc,

For once I'm serious........

We, Cornwall Rifle Club, have been waiting 4 months to have our Landmarc Range Licence renewed. That done last week, we put in our bids for the remaining year to be advised that we have NO dates available wtfwtf

I do have a bit of info re the AOSP which may poss take range time, but not weekends???

I write to ask if any other clubs who have just renewed and been advised likewise?

I also ask if there are any private ranges in south west (besides Broadhembury) that could be used or reopened?

I shall keep any info given 'in confidence' or you can p.m. me through the forum.

Many thanks

Hi John

Can you contact them by phone and ask if any other dates are free then submit new JSP 907.
Not had any issues with bookings due to new range licence just lack of dates available due to demand and SARTS install.

TW

Thank you.

We are in contact but I just wanted to know if any other club had had similar 'no dates all year' notice.
I wondered if it was a local office thing or on a national scale. I guess we may have to wait for seconds!!

At the moment I'm just gathering facts and I know this is the best place!!!

Anymore takers please?

Thanks all

John, I have not heard of any such issues with our club however CJ10 of this forum does all of our club bookings, I have PM'd him to make him aware of this thread.

Nothing has changed then, it used to be just like that years ago with the old Severn Tunnel range. They were quite willing to take your money each year for the range licence but then said the range was fully booked on weekends but perhaps a cancellation would come up.

No issues with Lamdmarc East, with bookings for the Gallery Ranges we use. The military generally use them a maximum of two weekends a month, normally less. Very very occasionally our bookings are cancelled as the dates are required by higher priority users. Such users can be anything from the SAS to air cadets.

Slightly more difficult with the Field Firing Ranges, where the military use these much more frequently and farmers also require access. This combination means we may get one day every other month only, between May to November.

Overall, the club's relationship with Landmarc is excellent. The only ongoing concern with our Range Licences is one over minimum age limits, which the NRA was supposedly aiding us with. :squirrel:

Thanks folks. All info going into 'database', well, my head!!

Sounds like a 'local' issue. This had been rumoured!!
