I find myself in the happy situation of having 200 quid's worth of Amazon vouchers. Is there a good, solid reason _not_ to buy a set of these scales?
I know they are going to be better than the Lee safety beam scales, but I'm looking to convince myself with other people's opinions...

I'm using a Gen5, can be a bit temperamental at times but once you get to know it it's a great bit of kit !

I have a Gen 6 version and have no issues with it at all. Safe to say that I am actually over the moon with it!

Well, i dropped the extra cash for it and it turned up the other day.
Setup was easy and quick and so i spent a happy hour finishing off my Poenix loading with it that night. It gave me a couple of slightly heavy throws and a few more light ones, but otherwise it seems to be consistent. Checked against Christel's chargemaster though, a 47.7 throw of TR140 by the Lyman gives a consitent 47.5 charge on the RCBS.
It's a damn sight more consitent than the Lee beam scales though!

Silly question but I assume you let it stand switched on for about 15mins and then ran it through the initial calibration procedure?.
My Hornady (with N140/TR140) never under-throws and gets the very odd overthrow of .02. Checked it against my 5-0-5 scales and as far as my eyes can tell it's spot on.

It had a 3 minute warm-up when switched on, then a 50g calibration and zero. Oddly, the first couple of throws after starting were very light (0.2 grn) and Ovenpaa suggested a longer stand before using it might prevent this. It might also be worth just recycling the first five throws before taking for a load.
