After a twenty year gap, I'm about to take on a new calibre - .300 Winchester Short Magnum or .300 WSM.
I'm on the look out for personal experiences - info on loads, brass, just about anything.
I'm planning on buying top quality un-fired brass - preferably Nosler - can anyone help me with a source in the UK other than Reloading Solutions in Kidlington who are currently OOS.
I'd also be interested in any reasonable-sized batches of once-fired .300 WSM brass from Nosler, Norma, Federal or anything else which may turn up.

300WSM? Personal experience? Get a good muzzle brake! I've probably put 30 rounds down mine using 230gn Bergers - it's very unpleasant to shoot without a brake (mine's an F Class Open gun).

Midway UK can sell you the brass.
A mate has the calibre in a stalking rifle. A rem700 in synthetic stock. Not a pleasant rifle to shoot and can be prone to excessive meat damage.

I certainly wouldn't entertain .300 WSM in a light rifle - it amazes me that some folks use the 7mm and .300 magnums in synthetic rifles with whippy barrels.
This rifle is intended mainly for long range use, and if it is used on deer it will for more distant shots. The rifle will be fairly heavy and moderated which ought to control it. How much meat you damage in my experience is very much down to correct bullet selection as well as velocity etc. One of the worst calibres for meat damage in my experience is .243 - something I know many won't won't agree with - but this can be sorted with correct bullet selection.
