Undersized bullets

#1 Post by mag41uk »

I managed to find some 6.5mm tracer bullets which are pulled.
they are actually in good order, little to no tarnishing and few pull marks.
The only problem I have is that that they are only 0.260 in diameter.
I am trying to load them in 260 rem Lapua brass that is necked sized using Redding comp die set.
Standard 6.5mm bullets have good retention.
I have loaded 3 rounds by paper patching (of sorts!) but I only really have a few thou to play with.
I am planning on launching these at Sennybridge tomorrow just for fun factor.
Any body have any ideas to get a better fit?
I know I could use a smaller bushing but don't want to screw up expensive brass.
Cheers,
Tony

Why the expensive brass?

How about trying 762 (rather than stretched 243), squeeze it and see what you have then.
Won't matter if you lose the brass either.
Arming the Country, one gun at a time.

Good deals with Paul101, Charlotte the flyer, majordisorder, Charlie Muggins, among others. Thanks everybody.
