Silverstone Shooting Range - anymore news?

#1 Post by UKYankee »

Was wondering if anyone had heard anything further about this range / club in the Silverstone area? Last I heard was planning stages.

Still at planning. Proper fight with some local anti gunners but we've done a lot of work to show that it won't be noisy and there's been a recent successful appeal oop north which helps us as well.

We will know by mid March.

Good luck with it, really hope it comes off as there's a load of "locals" who'll be queuing up to have a go party2

Any idea whereabouts "oop north" that appeal was?

Prospect park shooting centre, Warrington I think. I have all the details somewhere.

The bottom line is that planning for shooting ranges is tough s there appears to be a fundamental negative view against them at a council level which is effectively illegal, there's re a few of us now looking to challenge this legally.

Any further updates on this? I heard it could have fullbore and practical shotgun range.
We could really do with these type of facilities in the area

Good luck, it's heartening to hear of a (possible) new range opening instead of one closing.

Found the petition to show interest in this range at R&K Stockcraft last weekend and signed up!
