Self Defence, from MidWay UK

Hi, all.
While I certainly agree that self-defence is a universe-given right written into the stars, I'm also very aware that we live in the U.K., where you can be arrested for tickling someone too hard, and where the police will tell you off for having a cricket-bat beside your bed as that's: forethought for assault, or something. Even though we all have stabby, sharp knives in our kitchens.
Imagine my surprise when I saw this: Self Defence section from MidWayUK:

Look at all thoses bats and hitting things. I'm very surprised they're allowed to sell them here, though, you don't seem to get the "add to cart" option for some of them.
Before I get the: "Why shouldn't you be allowed, it's just steel sticks" talk - come on, you know what I'm saying, get "caught" with one and you probably have to explain it to Mr. Plod.
You can also buy woman's "pistol handbags", too. Er, why? We're not allowed handguns for self defence.
