We will be hosting our first live webchat on 17/02/2014 between 5pm and 6pm! More details will be advertised on our website and facebook
That is from North Yorks Police's firearms licensing department. And from their Facebook page, it seems they held an OPEN DAY in December:
Our open day was a great success and it is anticipated that we will be holding plenty more, so watch this space, twitter and the local press of details.

On the day we varied 17 Firearm Certificates, granted 3 Firearm Certificates, renewed 3 Shotgun Certificates, replaced 1 Firearm Certificate, replaced 1 Shotgun Certificate, granted 3 Shotgun Certificates and issued a Temporary Firearm Permit. We processed a further 13 grant applications which are pending further administration and we had a further 5 people that visited for general advice and to meet the team.
One day the Met will start doing something like this...

Nice, I'm still waiting for Linc's to send me back my licence after putting in for a 1 for 1 nearly a month ago. And it will probably be wrong like my last 2 have been.

The sooner they all get with the times the better :good:

More cuts in line for the police, which means more staff to lose their jobs and "non -essential" like firearms licensing will no doubt take more hits....

It's going to be a long time before it's anything like we should expect, I fear.

Good on North Yorks! Well done!

Come on Gaz, you have the ear, (well certainly the attention) of ACPO's firearms lead, is it not time to start ragging him again with the above....?! Lol!
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

Nice of them to tell the NGBs

Oh, err...

On balance well done Yorks, though I would have preferred to have heard by email at work rather than as a private citizen off a website reporting a Twitter feed.

And yes Gaz, I will take your thought about the NRA communicating (or not) in similar ways.

From the Facebook page 'Not only is Yorkshire one of the top places to visit but North Yorkshire boasts "PROBABLY the BEST firearms licensing department in the WORLD"

Brilliant, Gaz, please remind us closer to the date of the webcast.

Put in a variation at 4pm last Monday at Northumbria Police over the counter and got it back Saturday morning. Not too bad! Room for improvement.
