Col. Leslie C. Bruce, a member of the USA Rifle Team that beat Great Britain in 1877, gathered many of the long range veterans together for a reunion in December 1901.

Coincidently my cousin has a place in Manasquan NJ. It's immediately over the town border from the Sea Girt location mentioned in the article. From his deck you can survey the length of the range. The back stop is still there, huge mound of sand that is parallel to the beach. It's a NJ National Guard base now, completely built up. Very historical location that is all but forgotten locally.
