Advice/recommendations needed
I have a SVT-40, and I could do with a cheek rest/pad for it, to enable a more comfortable shooting position.
I like the look of the Garand M1D leather cheek rest pad, but I'm having difficulty tracking one down over this side of the pond.
So, does anyone on here have a better suggestion/alternative, or know where I can get one from?
I'm not bothered bothered what it is, or when it was made, just that it works.
I've looked at the Blackhawk cheek rest pad, and I'm not really sure about it.
I don't have a particularly nice example of an SVT, but I would prefer not to start cutting up the stock, besides I like the original stock.
Apart for the cheek rest, it feel right.
Cheers

Saddler on here might be able to help you on that one, he makes some fine leather goodies.

Cool, sounds good.

I make a leather cheekrest for the Swedish Mauser that will probably do the job
A mate WAS planning on making wooden NKVD cheekrests for the M91/30, but I don't think he is offering them for sale as yet

All the data is on my website
As a point of note, the Garand cheekrest was/is a fine design.
The ONLY purpose it has though is to move your cheekrest further left, NOT raise it
(the scopes on a Garand being offset to the left due to the Garands clip loading design)
Re: Advice/recommendations needed
I don't have optics on my SVT, only iron sights.
So what I'm after is something that improves comfort, I find the SVT stock too low for me to get a comfortable shooting position with a decent cheek weld.
The pad you offer for the Swedish Mauser is too high for what I want, although I'd love one the craftsmanship look first rate.
But I have not had it for very long, so I'll continue shooting with it some more, figure out how much I need to raise my cheek and would you be prepared to make a one off for me?
