An interesting .308...take 2!

#1 Post by huntervixen »

I was going to add this one into the thread of the same name, but I feel it deserves its own thread......Parker Hale heavy barrel T4 7.62x51mm, just spotted on Gunstar for £350!

Looks like a lot of rifle for the money to me and worth a look!!

For that price you could find one with the Parker Hale sights.

Really, are they that cheap, didn't think they had a heavy barrel like that as standard?

I've never seen one without a heavy barrel, they're great rifles. I've personally shot with one out to 1000yards on F range in Sennybridge. Fit one of the no gunsmithing scope mounts and you're sorted.

Annoyingly any other month of the year there are cheaper, all original T4s for sale. Can't find any at the moment but they do come up. They came with heavy barrels. A set of sights will easily set you back over £100.

Interesting, I have never really paid much attention to these rifles before, strong No4 action, heavy barrel.....(Coming from a Milsurp shooter here)... assuming the barrel still gauges well, why the hell would you spend ££££ on a modern sporting rifle, when you can buy these for a few hundred quid !!!

Hunter that's been my thinking for some time, once (if) I have some extra cash for a scoped 7.62x51 then it would be one of these

Free floating heavy barrel, PH sights.....Fultons even do a cracking scope mount that doesn't require any drilling or tapping. I love my one.
