help with a problem scope required

#1 Post by AL8 »

I have a Redfield 6x scope that I cant get to focus. The cross hairs can be focused but the image is still out of focus. Any thoughts on what the fault is would help. Or any details of someone or somewhere that can repair if possible?
Thanks

May be a missing screw somewhere.

Have you tried removing the rear objective completely, it may unscrew

I've had this happen with scopes and binoculars

I have tried the objective from one end of the thread to the other, it improves a bit but it is still not a clear image

Binoculars uk ran a repair service at one time. binoculars-uk.co.uk is their web address. Whether or not they still look at scope's, I don't know, but you could give them a try, or maybe Kayoptical.

I had a similar problem with a 3-9x scope. It wouldn't focus down to 25yds. The fix was to unscrew the front lens locking ring and carefully screw the front element backwards and forwards until the image was sharp at 25 yds. It's likely to be stiff to rotate. They'd used some viscous grease stuff on mine.
