Re: The road begins !
Well on discussion with the club sec I'm going to as for the following
.22 rifle x2 (1 semi auto and one bolt action)
.308 rifle
.357 lever action rifle
.357 lbr
.22 lbp
Ammo I'm asking for is 500 buy and 600 hold for each category ..
Club sec has allocated me a cabinet in the club armoury with room for 5 so with the space I've got in the home cabinet .. :-)
Just ammo safe, photos and referees to sort !

Hi Zzr1100,
good luck with your application, I would recommend at least 1200 hold for .22 as you have 3 of them and its easy to get through it, also if you are going to be doing serious TR in .22 then you want a good batch of ammo, and also some HV for the semi?
Again I would have suggested another .22 bolt & .22 Semi so you have have them scoped or open sights for different disciplines / comps, i.e. HARC.
Also don't forget your sound moderators, you are allowed these under EU H&S rules for target shooting, they are not just for vermin control, and plus you could do a one to one variation from a mod to a rifle

Re: The road begins !
Hope the process goes smoothly mate. Good selection there for a start, but I notice a serious problem. No 303......... ?
Re: The road begins !
Thing is .. The cabinet at the club has space for 5 .. Ive got space for 1 at home (my shotgun is in the other space so I've got to choose carefully)
Another question tho .. Do I ask for .308 / 7.62 or is it recognised that they are the same calibre ?

Re: The road begins !
Easy answer to the cabinet issue - buy another cabinet as big as space and partner permits!
As for the 7.62 / .308 issue, it depends on the force, the individual dealing with your application and whether the sun is shining. I would put in for 7.62 / .308, and then discuss further with your FEO when they visit. From what Ive heard most forces are very reasonable about this.

Re: The road begins !
Or lie the cabinet on its back, put the rifles in gun-socks to prevent damage and bundle them in on top of each other.
Re: The road begins !
wel figuring that the worst they can say is no .,.. ive added .303 rifle and changed the .22 ammo to 1000 buy and 1200 hold !
apparently Merseyside take about 8-12 weeks ...
