I understand the desire to chase a possible, but also think about what makes a better shooter – one who makes 9 scores of 98 and 1 of 100, or one who scores 10 scores of 99. Work on steadily improving your average over the last 5 cards or so. That will take away the pressure not to drop a single point during each shoot, and by improving your consistency you are becoming a better shooter, the possibles will come naturally, and they will probably come more quickly than they would otherwise.

I agree with you Rox, my averages have been creeping up and up .. Seems to be about the 95ish mark at the moment ..
Gaz, I'm using a BSA century bolt action with the magazine blanked off, standing but with the rifle supported on my elbows, no sling.
I'm using cci std ammo which seems to be as good as I need for the time being !

Oooo, I'd have to get the gauge out for no.4 razz ...so a very nice 98/99...only a matter of time...

Edit: Personally I would find the shooting position you describe harder than prone with a sling...you might want to try it; you could be very good at TR...

As a hint, go with 'inward gauging'.

Lovely 100x100. :shakeshout:
