Cheap holographic red dot

#1 Post by techguy »

I'm after a cheapish holographic type red dot for my rimfire. To be used mainly for minirifle type comps. Any suggestions? Are the knock off eotech type sights any good? Obviously you get what you pay for, and it won't be anything like a real one...

Bushnell TRS-25 red dot. Costs under $100.

I snagged a Tasco off Fleabay for silly money, much better than the usual Leapers etc. as it has 42mm optics.

I think Techguy is more interested in the sort of holographic sight that has a 'Heads-Up Display' rather than a tube you look through.

If you Google Eotech552 you'll see what I mean.

Cheers

Personally i'd steer clear of the knock-off EoTechs, i bought one last year and while it looked the part, it just would not zero for toffee!

I'd go +1 for a Bushnell TRS-25, or if you're determined to get an EoTech style one try a Sightmark Ultrashot QD. I've got one of each, the Bushnell is on my .22lr and the Sightmark is on my 9mm

Sorry for the dark pictures, i've not had a chance to alter them as they come out very dark when you use the IMG link from Photobucket for some reason

I have a Sightmark on my GSG. Works well. Mine even has a laser on the side of the scope! (Top draw fantasist!!)

I have a Leupold Tactical Prismatic on my S&W....

(pic not near as good as Marks....)

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?
