Static Cling!
Half way through reloading the other day I noticed that the powder was sticking to the inside of the Lee powder funnel. I had to manually push each one of the powder flakes down the tube. Also noticed that the powder was starting to cling to the inside of the RCBS chargemaster hopper tube.
Obviously the things are starting to get a bit of static which is not good. The central heating has been on and the air is pretty dry in my reloading 'man cave' due to the cold weather.
I was thinking of getting one of those yellow mains plug anti static plugs and leads to help reduce the charges a bit.
Anybody else had this issue?

Yes, a wipe over with the cloths/pads (I cannot think of the name) you can use in tumble dryers is supposed to work however I was not convinced..
An aluminium funnel seems to do the job.

We use tumble dryer sheets a lot at work for a similar application. You'd be surprised how well they work in these situations.

Just as long as you remember to earth the equipment AND yourself.saddler wrote:Never heard of copper earthing wires?
Washing plastic in soapy water and letting it air dry, is a good way of removing static charges.
One of the main reasons that reloading powder is coated in graphite is to minimise static.
That's why Lee tell you to run at least 2 hoppers of powder through a Lee Perfect Powder Measure before throwing charges.

I used to use these when I worked in the medical devices manufacturing industry http://www.meech.co.uk/en/products/stat ... rcular-bar
Meech products are very good but the price is maybe a little prohibitive for the average home loader-just over £100 if I remember right. This one is specifically designed for powder flow.
