Got some pegboard hooks through the post. I don't have any pegboard so I just drilled the relevant holes in some hardboard.
If the hinge had 1" holes that would be ideal, then it could just be bolted to the pegboard as needed.
I was planning on milling some brackets for the servo but a) my vice is broken and I can't afford a replacement until I sell the mahoosive one they sent me and b) this actually works surprisingly well

I recorded in landscape originally but there's a lot of glare from the window to the right, possibly something to do with the cracks on the camera lens from a drive along the floor it took, propelled by a toddler :(
That's just another project, it might make a better spider than a 3D printer TBH

I know it's been a fair while since this topic was raised but I've just started building a Mini McQueens rig for our club and I would be interested to hear how this one progressed?
One burning question though.........does anyone have a definitive size (in metric or imperial) for the targets used? I've heard 1/4 scale this or 1/2 scale that, but no-one has got a ruler out and said "yes they are X mm wide by X mm high".

I got the majority of this sorted but there was a bit of tension at the club when I started talking about it so it's gone by he wayside for a bit.
I'd settled on the hardware and written the code for the standard mini McQueens. The plan was to run it all from an arduino, initiated by pressing a button on an alarm-type keyfob. Lots of mounting options but I liked using plastic pipe in pipe clips and holding the servos in pegboard and on pegboard hooks. Most of it is still sat ready to go if the club decided they wanted to try it.
