12g slug would do it.

Incidentally, why are we discussing the rights and wrongs of expanding ammunition when shooting criminals. :?:

You think that Steyr remained in business because of these contracts? All of three nations total militaries you mention don't even amount to 200000 personell. So selling 200K AUGs is the secret to their success? Piffle. Could it not be the hundreds of thousands a year of the SBS based sporting rifle?

On top of which, should the civvy market not be of interest to Steyr why on earth would they go to the massive trouble of a UK legal AUG and a straight pull variety?
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

I didn't say the civilian market isn't of interest to them, just that it doesn't make or break the profitability of selling to military and LE. If companies like Microtech and Robinson Arms can stay in business selling a few thousand rifles a year to the commercial market then Steyr can surely stay in business doing the same, plus their sniper rifles, PDWs, upgrades, spare parts etc.
