What got up my nose after the ban was the Police licencing departments attitude. When I put my certificate in for variation obviously all the stuff that was originally on it was now illegal. So I asked to vary my certificate and replace all the slots with rifle calibers. Thames Valley Police were actually very good in this respect - at the handing over of my handguns they immediately asked what slots I'd like to have for rifle calibers. They didn't require prompting on this either - they asked me.

Agreed that a few really silly people gave up shooting in collective acceptance of blame for something they didn't do but the sport is no poorer for their loss is it?
