100,000 birds a year killed by ingesting lead shot and so all lead ammunition has to be banned? OK, well how about cats? Reports suggest that the domestic feline kills 275 million animals, of which 55 million are birds, every year!!!

The interesting thing is that lead shot has been banned from use on ducks since 1999 so it seems to me more of an enforcement issue. There are already rules in place for stuff coming into the food chain for retail so use them to trace back to the perpetrators.

Seems to me that there is another agenda behind this report or the reporting thereof.

Wind turbines kill hundreds of thousands of birds every year in the UK and millions world wide! Birds of prey are being "slaughtered" in Scotland because if wind turbines...

...and what about Sparrow Hawks, how many birds do they kill a year? Or Squirrels who take young and what about Badgers taking ground nesting birds and eggs...

As an aside I had Pheasant last night and that had certainly been given a reasonable dose of lead shot, very nice it was as well. This weekend I have some nice Duck breasts for the pot, they died of lead poisoning as well.

Windows! That's what should be banned! How many birds do you think re killed every year because of window strikes, I'd flying into them....

I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but, the evidence certainly does point to that...
