1 H&K PSG-1 (7.62x51mm)
2 AI AX (.338 Lapua)
3 AI AS50 (.50BMG)

Not sure i'd like to hump any of them for any distance though

I would suggest the LMT and the SVD if DMRs are included.

I an getting great results my LMT straightpull.

On a tenuously related note, I've always thought my Steyr SPG-CISM, whilst based on the same action, is a notable improvement- not least because it replaces the "rotary" plastic mag with a proper solid steel 10 round box magazine. Also like the adjustable laminate stock on it, but that's not really military sniper rifle material anymore!

(Although interestingly enough I did find a reference on a foreign wiki (Austrian IIRC) that EKO Cobra used them to some extent. Not entirely sure I believe it, but with a coating on the stock I could just about see it).

"I struggle to get on with scoped rifles at the best of times. Not really sure why, perhaps shooting and teaching iron sights almost exclusively has spoiled me."

Gaz....I had the same problem after 35+ years as a target rifle competitor.....changes in shooting position helped, however I still cannot get on with my match rifle and will selling that soonish......however, I get on just fine with my .303" No4(T) and my 7.62 L42A1 and the Mosin-Nagant with the PE scope...all are easy to use but do require a different position.

I've seen some amazing shoots with this rifle at the Trafalgar meeting; including a 50.9 at 200 yards with a 3.3" V-bull!

I feel a bit of a traitor, but it's above the No.4T on my list of 'rifles wanted'.

Parker Hale M85.

Better than the L96 in the trials apparently but politics ensued.......and the rest is history.

I've got a couple of M82s (C3 in Canadian/NZ service) which are great but trying to find an M85 is like the proverbial rocking horse ....

Orsis T-5000 in .338 is a serious bit of kit as well.
