Looks like AI are working on their website at the moment, but perhaps someone here will know. Will the AI AT be equally as accurate as the AI AW or the AI AX? I shot an AW again this weekend and as the owner says, shooting it is a waste of ammo because all the bullets go in the same hole! Got to say I love the AI, effortless accuracy, I've never seen another rifle shoot as accurately as this, so I've decided this is my next .308 rifle. For those that have experience with AI rifles, can you explain to me what differentiates each rifle beyond the obvious aesthetic elements? I appreciate the AT is a multi-barrel system, but apart from that...?

Accuracy wise I very much doubt there is going to be any discernible difference between the AT and previous models within the limits of the barrel length when shot here in the UK.

Thanks for the reply and info, I was hoping that was the case. Do you know what you get for spending nearly twice as much on an AX308 over an AT308?

Twice as much! Crikey you must have a different price list to me.

Well at a casual glance it's getting there... I just spoke with Sporting Services and they said they are equally as accurate, but I'm just starting to wonder if I should put my variation in for a 300 rather than a .308. Rifle price excluded, what do you think? Is there any significant difference in cost between reloading 300 and .308?

AX 0.308 26" Plain Threaded £4,704.00
AT 0.308 26" Plain threaded £3,120.00

The only real difference will be for the extra powder.
I looked at 300 winmag in an AE then went 260 rem which has the same ballistics but less recoil and cheaper to run!
The AX is a nice rifle but, personally, I could never justify the extra cost for it.
A friend has an AW and an AX, both in 308. They are both accurate. He feels the AX has the edge due to the stock/grip layout.
Whatever AI you get it will be a quality free floating barrel on a quality action. The rest is just cosmetics. We aren't going to war!
The AT is something of an unknown quantity but they must have trialled a few before release!

After all our "Build along with Badger' threads, we came to the conclusion that the AI AT is exactly what we need, and we're hoping to obtain one in 6.5x55Swe

The attraction with 300 winmag is the distance you can reach out to and being less susceptible to wind. I don't want to buy an expensive rifle and then be limited to 900 yards. It has been remarked the .308 looses some of it's umph after that, but I'm lead to believe the 300 winmag should get me out to 1200, but is it worth it?

TBH I'm pretty adaptable, I can get on with anything. I have shot the AW and the AX, both felt fine. Yes it's that quality action and amazing barrel that I want to lay my hands on... In my experience, nothing shoots like an AI, not even close. What an amazing piece of engineering.

You must have loads of rifles, what's the attraction with the AT and why 6.5x55? By not ordering the same am I missing something?

As a general rifle, the AI seems to be just about the best 'off the shelf' offering there is. We like the 6.5x55 Swe as it is readily available and seems to out perform the 7.62 / .308 at longer ranges without wearing out barrels ...
