I'm not advocating volunteering information but having it available if the need arose. If it isn't needed all well and good and I would always require the police to show me where the legislation requires it before giving any information. If I felt that the police had stepped over the mark I would report the matter to the NRA and get them to raise it at national level. On the other hand I'm relaxed about complying with a reasonable request from the police if it helps prevent a gun crime.
Er, WHAT?? kukkuk

Unless YOU had been planning a gun crimeyourself, then their extra requests & conditions are nothing but added bureaucracy to tie up shooters & increase the burden on the law abiding to supply information that they have NO LEGAL RIGHTS to request from anyone

HOW MANY "gun crimes" have been prevented in the UK by the laws that banned self loading rifles & handguns?

I was thinking of the guy who had a criminal business converting deac MAC 10s to live firers? He was also making up 1,000's of rounds of 9mm. I'd really rather he didn't so I'm relaxed about supporting reasonable steps to avoid that.

I bought a kilo of N140 and a thousand primers yesterday; it was entirely reasonable that I was asked to show my FAC.

Three of us are setting up to load 38's so although one may be loading for all of us one month how do we put it on the others ticket or do we just say we all homeload ?

You do not need to put homeloads onto your ticket even if they are gifted from another shooter. Ammunition that is purchased from an RFD will have to go onto your FAC.
Waiting patiently for someone to correct me regarding reloads obtained from another shooter. lol.

I would suggest that you read your FAC Table 2 Ammunition. Para A, Date of sale or TRANSFER. That implies to me (and I have checked with my licensing authority) that if someone gifts you ammunition it must be entered on your FAC as per a purchase with all columns A to F being filled in.

Or you could say that you have made the ammunition yourself and not enter it in!

You could say whatever you want but if I was to give you some ammunition It would be entered on your FAC. If you don't like that you would not get the ammunition.

True an individual could do that. However, my Mother said never accept anything from strange men, especially ammunition made by someone else, as I could not be sure that good reloading practice has been adhered to.
