Entering Reloads on FAC

What do people do? - if I make 300 off 308win handloads should i enter them on my FAC as handloads? (FAC - buy 500 & hold 700)

Nope don't need to enter anything. Just make sure you don't go over your hold limit.

Hand loads dont go on your ticket.

It isn't a requirement (yet) but I do record some of my loads, whilst most FEO are familiar with the processes, I just don't want some 'newbie' who isn't a shooter, creating waves and delaying me.

Also, heaven forbid that you have an accident and you have kit in the boot, some 'ordinary' Bobby beside the road might not understand.

I keep a log too, (exel spreadsheet) of how many I make, when and where I shoot them, and what the current stock is. The entries in the log are kept up to date, mainly for my own benefit as I have ammunition stored in two seperate places, the entries on the FAC are not so regularly updated.

My spreadsheet also includes, since retirement, miles travelled, travel/accommodation, entry fees and component costs.

Hence I know that my shooting cost me almost eight quid a bang last year - frightening, I think I'll stop doing it.

Folk doing it "as a favour" for the FLO will result in it becoming a requirement

BASC & other shooting bodies advise against doing so - PLUS it is ONLY legal to write on your OWN FAC for ONE REASON - to sign it!!

I'm expecting to be in the same situation later this year (no purchases on the ceritficate and looking for an increase in .308 holding). May I ask what holding figure you achieved?

You surely need to do more banging, then the cost will be less each time you bang.

I have 1000 of each calibre (9) posess and 500 acquire (Only a lottery win will give me the wherewithall to buy 500 slug!)

May I ask what holding figure you achieved?

For the original .308 400/500.

When I added a second .308 I put a note in saying I didn't need any additional allowance, however, my FAC came back with the original .308 allowance plus an extra slot for 300/400 7.62x51/.308Win so altogether I can buy 700, hold 900!.

Still won't increase my 22rf to hold 1000 though so have to buy in 500s and pay a bit more!.
