i put a side charger on mine so i can still shoot faster then a convertional turn bolt action rifle

Well under moa overall with factory GGG 168gr

Thats snap shooting at randomly positioned 3 sec exposures. So easily accurate albeit a bit heavy.

Here is mine. Notice the removed case deflector.

So, without wanting to open any cans of worms, once you take away the gas system, what's the point?? I get that this straight pull system can achieve a more rapid fire than a conventional bolt system, but to what end?? I mean, these aren't cheap guns, and I'm sure even more so over there. So, why does one make the investment?

Probably Because some people like military rifles, maybe something they used when they were in the military. The FN/FAL for example, they use them for target shooting, rate of fire is not an issue.

Guns & Ammo mag did an article on "bolt action ARs" a few months back. Seems some are excited US side as it's the "AR that's legal in all 50 states"....

Oh. OK. Although personally, I had enough of the M-14 in the 3 years I carried one around . Wouldn't go out and get one for old times' sake, for sure.

Because it's the closest thing to a proper AR we can have. So why not?

Plus quite a number of us compete in civilian service rifle competitions with them.

Then you have the whole modularity thing.

I can only read this as "I like to shoot these, and other military firearms, I just don't want you lot to, because you are all fantasist nut jobs"



He has also been banging on about those who are 'training to kill people' (airsoft), and 'those who are militarising shooting' (those with tactical looking rifles) and how that is bad for shooting.

As long as people are conducting themselves in a safe and responsible manner, I don't see what the issue is.
