Blu wrote:Dougan, yeah it is kinda satisfying, like I said though it was done when I was on the mend from a broken leg and it kept me from going nuts. As for putting on a period scope, well for me that would be like trying to turn it into something it isn't. Once the loads for it are fine tuned I will be putting the peep sight back on.

However you want to shoot it...It's a beauty :good: - still can't believe you got the original from a pawn shop tongueout

Dougan, you'll find all sorts in some of the pawn shops over here mate. I enjoy having a look around them.

Thanks Burner. Going to shoot with the Lyman adjustable peep sight that came with it and see how it does.

Well as I said a while back, I intended to take the scope off the rifle and put the Lyman peep sight it came with back on the rifle. Today was the first chance to shoot it with the peep sight and I am well pleased with the results. I've never used a peep sight before and as it came with no instructions it took me 10 minutes or so to work out the windage and elevation but once I figured it out it just got better and better. The target below was shot at 100yds and keep in mind my old eyes aren't as good as they once were I reckon it worked out pretty good. The rounds aren't stringing, this was me bringing the elevation down a bit at a time while also figuring the sight out.

I think the next step is to add a globe type foresight and see how well it does on NRA targets out to various distances.

This rifle is definitely a keeper.
