I read a review somewhere of the easy cam and it was really rated by the reviewer. Certainly seems to be a way of solving the primary extraction issue.

According to a recent Daily Express U.K. article, Royal Air Force soldiers assigned to protect the Olympics have been armed with the LMT L129A1 Sharpshooter rifle, which is highly accurate over long ranges.
“From the beginning, LMT has been proud to assist soldiers and law enforcement officials in protecting our country,” said Monica Sipp, Director of Sales and Marketing for LMT. “We are equally proud that our products are being used to protect the Olympics, an event which fosters global unity.”
I think the "problem" is very much choice of ammo.Individual wrote:Interesting.Dangermouse wrote:Wayne at NWC is advertising a 7.62 AR Straight-pull on his home page.

As far as I know, no one has yet managed to make a straight pull AR in 7.62 that doesn't have extraction problems. I think some of the experienced builders may have indeed tried it, because there would be a big market if it could be made to work. Never seen an SGC one in the field - so you have to ask why that is?
Manual straight pull ARs just don't have much leverage and the 7.62 is a lot of case to unstick from the chamber. Hence there are very few about (if any) and none in competitions...unless anyone know better.
But may be someone has solved the problem? Be great if they have.
Just wondering if use of a grooved chamber like the old G3s etc would help matters with extractions?Individual wrote:Interesting.Dangermouse wrote:Wayne at NWC is advertising a 7.62 AR Straight-pull on his home page.

I'm a natural cynic so I really have my doubts that LMT will even honour the contract.
