OK, I was going to print a couple of pictures off this morning to remind myself anyway
I am just looking for a piece of suitably tough steel for the pin, the good news is I have a clip suitable for the end

You've got to start somewhere, look after the details and the rest will fall into place.

I need to bore the holes in line to a precise size so probably best to find the pin first. I am sure I have a suitable candidate in my 'Bin of interesting off cuts'

Its filing the contents of those "bins" for easy retrieval at time of need that I find difficult.

Re: Increasing the Leverage on a Lee Classic Cast press
I just stick my hand in so a bit of a lucky dip.
I have two short lengths of a material, about 1" diameter by 2" long that I cannot identify, I used a bit of on and it is lovely to machine and work with and must be a stainless of some type. I would get some more but this came from the scrap bin of a company that makes satellites so I doubt I will be able to identify or afford any if I needed to replace it...

Re: Increasing the Leverage on a Lee Classic Cast press
As an update... Well I managed to get to it this evening, I will add the handle to the clevis pin and some thick washers either end tomorrow.
One of the long link arms was a swine to drill, harder than a hard thing. Also I have reversed the long link arms as per the thread you posted so you can reverse them and keep the stops.

+1 from me for a longer lever.Meaty wrote:Cant you just put a longer handle on it
A cautionary note: more leverage to generate more compressive force? Watch out for pot metal parts which may not be up to the strain.
