 Now that you've asked, I haven't a clue!

It doesn't help that I'm trying to restock my cabinet at the moment and I'm at a loss as to what to get. Mainly because I can no longer go stalking and the more I look at the different types of target shooting - the more it's annoying me because it all seems to be a **** arms race and I don't want to play that game.

As Vince pointed out in an earlier post the idea of of an F-AR is pie in the sky stuff, with trying to get a level playing field.

What would I really like? Apart from shooting more? I would really like a competition/s that didn't involve a huge outlay, hours to fine tune ammunition etc. Basically, something where you just turn up and shoot.

To be fair, Strathpeffer is like like that and I really enjoy that about the club. :goodjob:

The little I did of the NESSCC last year was fun, but you still need to keep up with the Jones. sign01

I guess what it boils down too, is that I miss the military style of shooting - everyone has the same rifle and same ammunition and it's only the individual skills that are the difference.

While writing this, I realised I was trying to fit my shooting into something I don't want to do or be. I don't want to be a competitive shooter and be stressed about every little aspect of my performance or my equipment.

I shoot to have fun and that's what I going to do! :shakeshout:

I 100% agree. This year I plan to get as much range time as possible with either a C7A2 or a C8SFW, basically throw a lot of 5,56x45 down the range at 200/300m. if I could get out once a month and shoot 2-300 rounds in varying scenarios i would be made up for life :good:

I enjoyed days out at STANTA in Norfolk on the armies battle ranges , anything from 25 yds to 700 yds ETR .
Great fun and loads of ammo required . At one time you could use the Redan range which was fire and movement , close quarter targets . Night shoots with tracer , thats a bit of a hoot as well . God bles the AR 15 .
