As already reported on here, I have eye trouble too...don't worry about it...I can't do iron sights at 50+Metres. And I 'm not consigning myself to shoot 25 metres at paper. I'm going to get some fun out of my Marlin.

Are the Marlins all ready drilled and tapped for mounts I have never noticed or do you have to have the reciever modded. I have fitted a williams aperture sight to my trapper it adjusts for windage and elevation. Never thought of taking it out any further than 25mtrs may be I should give it a try. I usually shoot it with 38 special loads suppose I could beef it up to 357 and have a play. :P
Any body shoot 357 what sort of loads do you use.
I will be using 158g lead semi wad cutters with Vit N320 any suggestions.

No drilling required...I've fitted an XS Lever Scout...£50 from MidwayUK, probably less if your dealer stocks one.

I've taken my Tang sight off...it can all go back to original within 15 mins inc a coffee and a natter with your mates.

I have a Williams also...no better than the Tang sight...bit more sight radius with the tang sight.

Harris bypod doesn't fit...use sandbags.

Previously i used 158grn RNFP lead bullet with 5.5 grains of Vectan A1 and CCI500 primers with good results.

Now im using Dodgyrogs bullets with Alliant 2400 and same primers.Did some load testing this morning and found 5 grains had the tightest group.

Are Dodgyrog boolits 158g RNFP.

Rob, I was always told that jacketed rounds should be avoided in a Marlin due to the Ballard? Rifling! I'd check.

44RNFP should be fine for 100yds, Gwyn did report in Target Shooter that they are useless at 300 and was having to source dedicated boolits. Check out the article Page 91 May edition. Dont know how to share the link from their site, sorry.
