Regardless of the numbers made, when historic rifles like these are no longer in manufacture they become rare. Those of us who have the privilege of having them in our possession should try and remember that we only own them but for a fleeting moment in time and in truth we are only keeping them in trust for future generations, history is the responsibility of those in the present.

I have just sold a pukka 1939 Tula PEM sniper, as nice as it was I preferred the way the M44 handles..... oh and those flames

And I agree, this was one of the reasons for departure of the said firearm, this one I'm looking to mod is a 1948 post war model, exceptionally well finished, shoots great and I want to have some fun with it without making it out to something it isn't.

I have no intention of selling it or a permanent change to what is a great historic rifle.
After some more research and advice, It would seem the better option is to buy a purpose built rifle with optics....something with military history.......the search continues.
Thank you all for the advice.

Alas, the ferocity of the M44 doesn't successfully permit this reliably.

So is item 2 licensable or can you import one from the States for instance.
