Interesting discussion, oomans, but we aren't looking for anything other than a useful carbine that can chuck a hefty lump of lead, accurately, to 300 mards, silently.
I'd say that's exactly what the 6.8 does - and you don't have to invent a wildcat based on the 7.62X39mm which needs a new reamer produced and very expensive one-off dies manufactured. It's just a shame that (nearly) the only practical way to get one in the UK is as a straight-pull AR-15. (Which I have, and can confirm, it is a really nice cartridge to load for and shoot, easily made deer-legal too for those who need their 1,700 ft/lb ME.)
