No, it isn't. We've tried.

More unnecessary paperwork than you can shake a stick at.

Did you not put your name forward to join others for the K31 shoot at Bisley that Kenny C was trying to arrange, you did not read the opening words "need to be individual members of the NRA" so you could not have shot and wasted your time, But no time to fill in a bit of paperwork.

Why for example, are two photocopies of our FAC required?

I can't see why more than one is required... Needing two smacks of inefficiency at the very least. In fact, why do they need a copy at all ? By all means look to see we have one, and note the fact that we do, but making and retaining a copy(s) seems pointless. What possible use can they have for the copy(s) ?

It is probably far easier to retain a copy than have you travel all the way to Bisley to verify your original copy and then note all the relevant details on a form.

I think there may be a misunderstanding here, the form calls for your FAC or 2 copies, your FAC has two sides, 1 copy of each side = 2 copies, thats all I sent in when I made my application, the copies where just printed from a .PDF I keep on my PC in case I lose my original, or for when it comes back from a variation minus something important, so I have proof of entitlement.

My FAC has 6 sides...

In any case they don't *need* any copy: merely proof that I hold one which can be supplied by them seeing it on an occasion when I visit...

Hmmm now I don't know for definite and I am not sure why they would need two copies BUT they do a police check on new members so it might be needed for that. Now I am sure Surrey Police can find out if someone has an FAC but its obviously far easier and far quicker if they have a photocopy in front of them.

I could be completely wrong on that one so don't quote me - maybe Heather is bored in bed and can elaborate on why it's two?
