Otherwise, for target shooting, I like rifles that make me work every time I shoot them - they are my variable. I like tinkering with them to understand how to get them to shoot better, but once I've succeeded the thrill is gone from them.
Some of my rifles make up for their accuracy by having quirks , like being single shot break barrels (45-70 and 223) or unusual ammunition (8x57R, 9mm Largo or 6.5x52mm). Others like my Winchester came to me as a problem child and those problems, quirks or inaccuracies make them come alive for me - they give each rifle a personality. Every time I shoot one or my rifles I like wondering, "Are you going to behave today or are you going to

Doesn't work for everyone, but it works for me!
