Give it a rest these things take time and we all know that you have a great opinion of the NRA from the tone of almost every one of your posts.

The NRA don't book MoD Ranges for Civilian Clubs, the clubs do it themselves and in the first instance they should see what's available. If you have been denied use of a Range it could be for a variety if reasons. If the club is told you can use the SARTS Range but can't shoot at SARTS Targets then give this information directly to the NRA and ask them to challenge it on your behalf and if that results in no joy cancel they can cancel the booking or try to change it to a Gallery Range.

The NRA have been asked this already, as well as this thread I have done so directly in an email to them before christmas and it is now three months on with no word. All that is happening here is that we are asking the NRA for an update on progress, "these things take time" attitude is an unacceptable reply, does that mean we could be waiting years? I also hope that the the rest of the NRA has a more positive "can do" attitude than you, I don't know what position you have in the NRA but corporately I hope they are more positive as an organisation.

My view on the NRA is solely based on my experience of the organisation over decades as a member, you have no idea how I wish that the NRA was an organisation that I could sing the praises of. I so wish that it could get its act together and represent shooting nationally but its inability to do this over the years is getting wearisome. The organisation seem to struggle in spite of having some excellent members of staff. It just beggars belief. What does one have to do to get some proactive action out of them? Posting on a public forum seems the only way at present.

Whatever, I hope the people dealing with this in the NRA have thick skins because your constant bemoaning would do nothing to encourage most people to help.

Sadly THAT is part the problem with some NRA staff and quite a few shooters in my opinion.

They can only see their discipline, will only defend their discipline, and their discipline is all that matters.

CSR interests me, but after 14 years of running about like a nutter with a yellow stick you can poke it (I cant get into many of the positions anyway), I would still encourage anyone to give it a go, likewise with any other disciplines, its what makes shooting fun and interesting (and keeps me supplied with a diverse selection of cartridges and bullets to collect...which is nice).

United we stand etc, but I do think that the NRA need to be more vocal in our defence at times.

I actually joined the NRA initially because I felt it wrong to moan and not contribute, but to be fair they have improved over the short time I have been a member, and there are advantages.

As regards the targetry, I thought of they were installed properly there was not much chance of doing damage to the mechanism, it has been a long time granted, what's the issue?

Its wear and tear and the clubs pay.

This section of the JSP also covers range refurbishment, you may all wish to note that in the check list there is no mention of a requirement to include the NRA in any discussions or meetings.

Good to know that the MoD are trying to involve the NRA even when they don't have to.

Let me be radical here, everyone has had their bitch about the NRA / MOD / Landmarc, how about you give it a rest and let the NRA try and sort it out.

Dromia, why don't you apply for a job at the NRA or even stand for the committee if you feel you can be a big improvement? if not you have a vote, you have a membership, both of which you can just not use or renew.

As I have said, I have my beefs with the NRA but this constant bitching and complaining about them will just cause the NRA staff on here that try to help on an unofficial capacity by informing us with the information that they can without breaking there confidentially or loosing their jobs, to just leave the forum.

Get banned. Why would the Admin ban you when she is an NRA supporter, NRA trade member and married to an NRA member whilst being members of NRA affiliated clubs?

We all seem to be angry at the NRA however, I know there is no obligation for the MOD to provide civilians with ranges but why don't those affected make an appointment to see their MP and fight the fight from another angle?
