Out attacking clays with the Baikal this morning, bit foggy and surprisingly cool. Clays seemed to have the upper hand today, a whole 17 scored (out of 60). I enjoy shooting at clays, but I'm not much good!

Rox asked "I'll be interested to hear how you get on with it". Well, the Instant Indicator works well, although I find that it has to be calibrated before each use. Having said that, one can do a before and after measurement on each case using the quick change bayonet action to change between the re-sizing die and the Indicator, which detracts from the speed of the Instant part. More anon.

Two consecutive days of sunshine and shooting, no midges!

I shot like a tango zero (again) but first serious comp for two years so I wasn't expecting much.

Rifle and ammo were spot on, my wind reading was not.

Anyway, brilliant week-end and, costing it all up, fuel, fodder, (one or two drinks ;) ) accommodation etc. Ninety rounds fired at a cost of about £4.55 each.

Was it worth it? definately yes

A thought occurs to me, if I played golf, every swing I take gets cheaper tongueout

Today, good 'end of season' clean for the 7mm.

Just to prove the weather, this was Sunday morning.

Started building another rifle from the junk parts bin.

When I build one of these, they normally have a total cost of $3 -$50 out of pocket expense.

This is because I gather up every bit and piece of any firearm I can come up with.
Someone always has that odd part and says. Hey Bill, do you have a use for this?

This one started as a Japaneese type 99.
The barrel had been cut and the markings almost all removed from the receiver.
So in all, it is worthless.
So I take this junk and give it new life as a shootable rifle.
some look nice and some just look rough. But all (well most ;) ) end up as a good, and safe shooter.

I'm going ot make another wildcat round for this one.
Reaming the chamber out to 63mm and making it a 7.7mm 06
I was given a very nice Boyds walnut sporter stock that will fit the action, so this one should be a looker.
