Steve wrote:The best ammunition i've ever stuck through my K98 were old machine gun rounds (you could see where they'd been de-linked) of 1945 vintage. They were greasy, dirty and looked like they'd sat in an old oily toolbox for years, but they were insanely accurate.I do have some Yugo from C&G which is ok and also have some Privi match too which is excellent, but still not as good as the crappy looking stuff!
Hi Steve, The yugo from C&G is machinegun ammo as well IIRC, used it for years and in all my mausers. Get some hang fires now and then no issues, just boil the kettle when you get home !

Ah I see I don't have on my license the ability to buy hunting ammo I can only buy dedicated target shooting bullets , you are lucky as im sure the lighter 150g bullets would shoot better through old g98's .

Normally 300 meters but when I get to Bisley I have shot 600yards with ease and even had a punt at 1000 , but generally have to stick to 300 ,as I live on the isle of Wight travelling can get expensive .
