Tried this out - I loaded 10x 44 Special cases using the Lee 0.5cc dipper and GM3 (that seems to be 3.6 grains on my Lee Scale) Using a 200 grain bullet and shooting from a rest I had a 1 inch group at 25 metres. Ideal for GR.
I think that's slightly tighter group than I get using the 0.7 cc dipper (5.2. grains on my Lee Scale) of GM3 and a 200gr bullet and a 44 Magnum case, I may have been shooting a wee bit more carefully with the 44 Specials so I'll try another batch.

This powder seems quite mucky though - quite a lot of sooty deposit.

I've been asked to reload some .44 magnum for another shooter who doesn't reload, he's paying through the nose for factory ammo at our club. He's going to pay for the powder, primers and bullets and use the cases off his factory ammo, I'll show him how to use the progressive so he can do it himself that way no worries about me selling him ammo.

I think he was pleasantly surprised when he saw the groups my reloads produce with my Henry (or Marlin). I'm hoping to get him into reloading as he also buys factory .308!!.

It is quite possible that the low powders charge are responsible of this phenomenon.

Hi guys,
This is my first post on this forum.
I have used GM3 for a number of years and found it very versatile for all my cast loads. I use it for my lever action rifles and it also makes a good plinking load in my .30cal rifles.

I use 6.9gns/250gn cast bullet for .45 Colt, 6.9gns/200gn cast bullet for 44-40, 5.8gns/158gn cast bullet for .357 and 13.5gns across a range of .30 cal bolt action rifles with gas check bullets.
I have no experience of GM3 with .44 loads.

It's a dodgy business reloading for other people and not to be done without doing due diligence.

Morning Rog smile2 , as I said, he's doing the actual reloading with his own components, I'm just overseeing and letting him use my presses until he gets his own kit.

While I remember, do you do 12g slugs?, if so whats a rough price per 100?.
