Thanks for all the info Cerwyn. I was considering the Yugo as a budget option to scope a 7,92x57 without destroying an original K98. I ended up buying a Czechoslovakian TGF which basically is a DOU/DOT but 1950 made . It initially looked like a match made in heaven, a far better option to stay faithful to my love for the "pure" K98 while stepping into my interest for Com-Block weapons.
However after acquiring a perfect German 50's period scope, (Meopta would have been better), I started to see my TGF as a very interesting rifle in its own right, ie : last k98 produced, supplied to the DDR etc... and have not yet taken the step to get it drilled & scoped.
So back to square one
