Until such time as those scrotes face the possibiulity of sever injury or death at the hands of their potentila victims it will continue unabated.
Blame the government, lawmakers and handwringing deluded fools who think being a victim is somehow laudable and something to be proud of.

But they might not be allowed to have anything to shoot them with!

The first of the cases has been brought by Dublin man Mr Michael Walls, who is seeking orders quashing refusals in October 2009 by Garda Chief superintendent Gerard Phillips, who is based in Ballymun garda station, to issue firearms certificates in respect of seven pistols owned by Mr Walls, which are considered as restricted firearms.

The irish were never as daft as made out, unlike the miguided retards in Civil Liberties groups, how many of these "groups" are responsible for so much crime.
New law is attacked by civil liberties organizations as ‘license to kill’
You've got to wonder what planet these buffoons are living on, why should the life of a criminal matter more than their victim because that is exactly what these miguided dangerous fools are saying. There are far too many criminal loving people on this planet, time they were all made to live in some ghetto where their every minute is spent guarding what they have.
At least I feel comfy that if it ever happened I would sleep OK knowing that I COULD have saved one of those clowns from a criminal..but did NOT. They choose to exercise their civil liberty to be a victim but no way should these people EVER dictate what the people want or need!
Their denial of a right and method to defend themselves shows how little they value YOUR life!

Basic security seems to be missing here, if something unexpected turns up then expect the unexpected.
Of course once again the victim is defenceless but it is impossible to say if having access to a weapon would have been of use, weapons on their own are not the answer, they are a last resort when all else fails...
Some of the comments are interesting, maybe black gang related?

Released Inmate Shot Dead During Redding, CA Home Invasion
Written by Duncan Mackie on January 6, 2012
37-year-old Jesse Theis was released early Thursday morning from the Shasta County Jail, and before sun-up Friday, he invaded a Redding, California home. The 66-year-old female homeowner fired warning shots when she heard someone trying to force entry into her home. When the invader tried a short time later to climb into her window, she shot him dead. Theis had been released due to a county prison policy designed to ease over-crowding by requiring the daily release of those inmates prison officials deem low-risk. While police and prosecutors will review the shooting, early indications are that the homeowner will not face charges.

A couple are stabbed and beaten to death in a home robbery:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bi ... m-17055609
A man has been jailed for murdering an elderly Italian couple in a "brutal and savage attack".
Guiseppe Massaro, 80, and his wife, Caterina, 77, were found dead at a house in Woden Road, Heath Town, Wolverhampton, in April.
Polish national Ireneusz Bartnowski, 22, of no fixed address, who denied the charges, was convicted of the murders at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
Bartnowski was jailed for life and told he must serve a minimum of 34 years.
After a three-week trial, a jury of six men and six women took just over six hours to convict Bartnowski.
The court was told he had attacked the couple with a claw hammer and a knife.
[...]
The court heard Mr Massaro was stabbed in his head, neck and body. One of his wounds was 14cm deep.
His wife bled to death after being stabbed in the neck.
