I have just received an e-mail from Timney, and I do apologise but my first diagram is incorrect. I have now made the necessary updates and have deleted my original image, so the previous one should be removed shortly.

I adjusted the sear engagement first by turning the screw until it fired then turning it back 1/4 of a turn. Then took out all of the first stage and finally adjusted the pull weight. Not sure what you mean about you can only adjust first and second stage so far?
Was yours a gold or blue unit (not that I know the difference)
I had the instructions and the religious verse included with mine. The instructions don't state it but the pull weight has a certain range that you can adjust (second stage pull weight between 16oz and 3lb for example). The same can be said for the first stage. I noticed that when I screwed in the first stage pull weight too much I could feel a gritty force when it approached the second stage. I backed the screw out maybe 1/8th of a turn and the grittiness was removed.

The gold Calvin Elite is single stage trigger.
The blue Calvin Elite is a two stage trigger - low pull weight range (i.e. for target shooting).
The red Calvin Elite is a two stage trigger - high pull weigh range (i.e. for hunting).

That's the reason I asked why you didn't just buy the single stage Calvin Elite model. I shot an Accuracy International the other weekend which had a two stage trigger and honestly, I'm converted. I can pull up the first stage and when I'm ready I apply a slightly larger amount of force to set the trigger off. With a single stage trigger you're never quite sure when it's going to break. Bear in mind that I've never used a single stage Timney trigger, I'm only basing this against the standard Tikka trigger and standard Remington triggers.

Why, yes of course! Me and Mrs. Mittens live on a secluded island, the view is actually quite nice. See attached portrait picture of Mrs. Mittens and myself followed by my humble abode.
