Sorted, I posted this on Pigeon Watch for David from Basc to look at, Roger sent him a copy of the emails and he's been in touch with the senior officer this afternoon and only the official Form 201 needs to be submitted (as it should be).
Anyone want to guess how long until or what the next additional requirement will be from them?.

My name will be mud there, AGAIN!
Let's see how the renewal goes through. I'll keep your posted.

Rog to hell with them then and their dreaming up stuff to make the process more difficult. They try making your life difficult over this then have a Solicitor send the Chief Constable a letter threatening legal action if they continue their crap.

What is annoying is that you can build up a good relationship with the staff there but the girls aren't permitted to use common sense - just toe the party line.
I honestly believe that they believe that they are making us safer - nonsense really.
Firearms are the top of the left wing political agenda - just look at both the EU and the USA

dodgyrog utterly no reason for you to feel bad about it!
It is a principle of our Parliamentary democracy that the law is proposed, discussed and voted upon by duly elected representatives!
The Police are there to protect the public peace and enforce the Law as laid down by Parliament! AT no point in that do the Police have the right to invent new laws themselves.
It is a pity that forces like Durham have to be reminded of that fundamental democratic point.

Well, as Roger has already annoyed them I've sent mine off today, 94 days until they are due so lets see how long it takes.
Like Roger, I've also used the official H.O. Form 201 and not included the extra 2 pages of cr@p they ask for, and which are still part of their version of the form on their website despite agreeing with BASC to remove them.

The only thing you need to prove is good reason anything else is for the police to prove you are not fit etc
Durham need reminding that owning a firearm is still a qualified right ! But i suspect those days are numbered
The sheep want safety at all costs

Next problem! FAC runs out next week and they won't issue a temp permit. BASC now on the case again! Apparently it's against their policy (in direct contravention of the Firearms Act).
