Obviously the problem is going to be the cartridge OAL. In a .357 chambered rifle there are minimum lengths that will work reliably in the rifles. Some rifles will require the length of special cartridges to be loaded to magnum cartridge length. I suppose you could modify or custom make a carrier to account for the much shorter length. The bolt face and extractor would work, but a new ejector might have to be fashioned also, to account for the shorter length.

The Short Colt was originally a outside lubricated healed bullet but this was changed to an inside lubricated design at .359", 125-130gns. There's a few companies still make factory ammo, Remington, Ten-X and Magtech and it's still chambered in newly manufactured guns, mainly Uberti made Cartridge Conversion revolvers and chambered in conversion cylinders for .36 BP revolvers.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

No this post should not be in grumpy old men as suggested I don't frequent the grumpy old men forum. I have no desire to ever visit the grumpy old men forum ever again thank you. My point is if I don't know what feo stands for how is a new shooter or some one wanting to enter the sport and coming here for help and just starting out supposed to know what we are talking about. FLO does not make it any clearer to some one just starting out.

They could try looking here:

Also when people find one that isn't there they could add it to be helpful.
